Remembering the life of Dave Campbell, whose career transformed sports journalism in Texas

Dave Campbell, founder of Texas Football magazine and longtime sports editor of the Waco Tribune-Herald, died in December at the age of 96. He was among a group of top writers in Texas who changed and elevated sports journalism. He also left a legacy of hiring and mentoring young journalists who went on to accomplished careers in journalism.
